EyeSouth’s affiliate network consists of 30 practices with over 260 doctors providing medical and surgical eye care services at approximately 150 locations including 19 surgery centers throughout Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Texas, Alabama, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Illinois.

Position Summary

Serves as the Optimization Specialist for all EMR implementations as they relate to deployment go-live events, system optimization, support, and all other 3rd party bolt-on integrations for our affiliate practices (end-users).

 

This position serves as a technical point of contact and assists with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, and process improvement opportunities to ensure efficient systems integration and optimization with new and existing affiliates.

Responsibilities

Partners with Nextech deployment teams to oversee successful utilization of software EMR system with new and existing affiliations, in partnership with the Nextech deployment teams.

· Engages others in project management process, including: issue & risk management, project plan management, conversion management, communications, equipment evaluation, and status reporting.

· Assists teams during project planning, assessment/workflow process, direct build progress of teams, coordinate testing plans parallel processes (user acceptance testing) and go live activities.

· Develops documentation and project content for internal or external utilization for deployments/implementations, workflow optimization, support, and all 3rd party bolt-on integrations.

· Assimilates feedback from affiliates (end-users) and actively drives process improvement and culture change as implemented/approved by leadership.

· Uses professional knowledge and experience to advise the client on optimal workflows and system functions.

· Openly shares knowledge with peers, via super user networking and other trainings as appropriate.

· Assists in project team employee review and assessment processes.

· Drives client communication process to develop and enhance client understanding of the project Best Practice, project timelines, tasks, client commitment, risk/issue impacts and mitigation.

· Leads team workflow and gap analysis, independently completes documentation and/or peer review documentation utilizing department standards.

· Independently monitors own work and work of others for accuracy and thoroughness.

· Mentors others for documentation accuracy, leading through mentorship.

· Prioritizes own tasks and assists peers with task identification and documentation.

· Understands project deliverables and level of effort to complete.

· Drives to incorporate Lessons Learned into department practice/methodology, including process improvement.

· Ensures project plan for various work streams are integrated, updated and managed

· Serves as the point of escalation for end-users when there are roadblocks, issues, and risks that cannot be resolved without intervention

· Tracks and monitors progress to ensure timely delivery of key project deliverables by those assigned to deliver

· Provides direct support for Practice integration efforts across affiliates, to ensure successful and on-time project delivery, working across clinical, technical, and administrative teams

· Delivers outstanding customer service and skilled de-escalation of difficult situations

· Develops and manages strong relationships with key stakeholders within each affiliate, particularly physician and clinical informatics leadership

· Travels to each affiliate as needed to successfully integrate, train and update for deployment go-live activities, optimization and bolt-on integrations.

· Balances competing project constraints, including scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, and risks

· Contributes deep working knowledge and insight on the role of software workflow solutions

· Contributes to the team effort being cross utilized in implementations and help desk as needed

Qualifications

· Ability to travel 50% of the time throughout the United States (5 - 8 days at a time away from home)

· Ability to quickly learn new software, new systems, adapt to change and communicate effectively

· Experience in following and improving implementation and project management methodologies

· Knowledgeable of healthcare interface standards, especially HL7

· 5+ years’ experience using SQL preferred

· 5+ years’ experience using HL7 preferred

· 5+ years’ experience using a customer-based ticketing system and/or project management software preferred

· Excellent time management skills, organizing and prioritizing workload, in order to meet deadlines

· Ability to create and maintain documentation related to support processes and procedures

· Ability to interact with customers and vendors in an effective manner to build and support integrations

· Ability to interact with customers and staff to quickly resolve technical problems

· Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent years related experience preferred

· Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.

· Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level.

· Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.

· Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills; written and documentation skills

· Professional & reliable demeanor with strong work ethic

· Rational and analytical approach with a friendly disposition; ability to remain calm in difficult situations

· Ability to work with little or no supervision applying generally accepted EyeSouth philosophy

· Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.

· Team player that develops strong collaborative working relationships with internal partners and can effectively engage and ability to build consensus among cross-functional teams.
