EyeSouth’s affiliate network consists of 30 practices with over 260 doctors providing medical and surgical eye care services at approximately 150 locations including 19 surgery centers throughout Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Texas, Alabama, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Illinois.

Position Summary

The HR Generalist provides generalist HR support to the human resource department for centralized employee onboarding, I-9 management, benefits administration, employee relations, and HRIS entry

Responsibilities

• Manages the full employment cycle serving as the organizations onboarding specialist documenting and overseeing offer letters, new hire paperwork, preemployment screening, E-Verify, I9 documentation; managing and documenting promotions and transfers; termination process including paperwork and HRIS documentation.
• Conduct New Hire Orientation and update to presentation
• Manages PI assessment program, HR Intranet updates and track employee certifications.
• Maintain employee data (i.e. employee records, certifications, performance reviews, etc.)
• Creates standard and ad hoc reports for various internal and external stakeholders.
• Answer general questions from employees and applicants about policies, benefits, and procedures and refers more complex injuries to designated points of contact for further assistance.
• Routes employees to appropriate HR resources.
• Assists with employee relations issues, including unemployment claims and workers' compensation.
• Attends HR specific meetings like open enrollment and benefit meetings.
• Maintains and updates job descriptions as needed.
• Participate in various HR projects (I-9 audits, job fairs, annual reviews, handbook revisions, survey implementations, etc.)
• Assists or prepares correspondence as needed from the Corporate level for field HR representatives and/or employees.
• Support employment engagement initiatives and events
• Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files, records and data.
• Provides additional clerical support to the HR, benefits and payroll department as needed.
• Oversees corporate employee engagement events and planning (corporate town hall meetings, employee recognition events, and holiday parties), employee gifts for special events (baby, bereavement, etc.) charitable events

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or the equivalent years related experience preferred.
• Prior HRIS experience required, Ceridian preferred.
• Ability to handle highly confidential data required.
• Ability to travel 20% of the time via rental car, local travel, and flight travel, sometimes overnight.
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external. 
• Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
• Team player that develops strong collaborative working relationships with internal partners and can effectively engage and ability to build consensus among cross-functional teams
