Ophthalmic Technician I

The Oaklawn Surgery Center is an independent healthcare facility which performs outpatient Ophthalmology related outpatient surgery. We are located at 6311 West 95th Street, Oaklawn, Illinois 60453, we invite you to join our team!

We are now hiring for an Ophthalmic technician/scheduler that will support a high-volume ophthalmic surgery center that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services.

Pay Range - $19.00-22.00/hr. Commensurate with experience

This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.

Ophthalmic skills include:

• Obtaining and documenting patient health history
• Obtaining medical clearances from doctor offices
• Obtaining History and Physicals from doctor offices
• Verifying insurance information
• High Call Colume Center
• Stocking surgery center oprting rooms
• Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMR
• Providing patient services
• Maintaining equipment and instruments

• Dependable transportation required

• Ability to pay attention to detail

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable

• The ability to recognize inconsistencies

Education:

• Graduation from an accredited high school
