Sterile Processing Technician Certified

The Oaklawn Surgery Center is an independent healthcare facility which performs outpatient Ophthalmology related outpatient surgery. We are currently hiring healthcare professionals who are passionate about customer service to join our Team as an Sterile Processing Technician.

Pay Range - $20.00-24.00/hr. Commensurate with experience

• Extensive knowledge of the best practices for infection control, hazardous waste disposal and emergency preparedness
• Keen attentiveness to detail to monitor working conditions, inspect equipment and oversee the decontamination process
• Organizational skills to efficiently fulfill supply requests
• Familiarity with a wide range of surgical instruments, medical devices and equipment
• Dexterity to operate equipment used for decontamination and sterilization
• Ability to remain stationary and upright during a shift and to move items that weigh up to 25 pounds.
• Experience using databases to look up infection control procedures as needed
• Strong oral and written communication skills to interact with members of the care team and keep accurate records

This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.

Ophthalmic skills (upon completion of training) include but are not limited to:

• Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMR
• Providing patient services
• Maintaining equipment and instruments

• Dependable transportation required.
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable
• The ability to recognize inconsistencies

Education:

• • Graduation from an accredited high school
  • Graduation from Sterile Technician Program
