South Georgia North Florida Eye Partners offers a variety of eye care services from detection and medical treatment of eye diseases and injuries to advanced procedures including Lasik and cataract surgeries. We also have an on-site Optical Shop that carries the latest in designer frames and sunglasses. We offer several locations including Valdosta, Tifton, Douglas, Madison, and Moultrie.
Responsible for managing, leading, and supporting the operations of assigned practice location(s). In conjunction
with Practice Administrator and/or Assistant Administrator, is accountable for activities that will enhance operational
efficiencies, improve patient satisfaction, and result in healthcare solutions that meet the mission of the practice
and EyeSouth Partners. The clinical operations manager helps evaluate company operations and makes
suggestions for improvement while supporting the company performance targets and financial goals. This position
serves as an important knowledge resource in their department
The Clinical Operations Manager does not participate in direct patient care, but does have advanced understanding
and ability to complete each skill as required based on iJCAHPO training and generally accepted understanding of
each individual skill:
• History Taking
• Visual Acuity
• Confrontation Visual Fields
• Extraocular Motility Assessment: evaluation of ductions, perform cover/uncover & alternating cover testing
and document defects; recognize defects, identify potential related pathology and possible additional
testing secondary to findings.
• Pupil Assessment: recognize and identify pupil abnormalities in addition to an APD; able to use special
techniques to identify abnormalities and evaluate associated pathology.
• Intraocular Pressure Measurement with Goldmann applanation via slit lamp or Perkins tonometer.
• Manual Lensometry and accurate transposition between minus and plus cylinder as needed.
• Angle Assessment utilizing the slit lamp microscope.
• Manual Refractometry; accurate refinement using the Jackson Cross-Cylinder technique; duochrome
testing, and prism measurements.
• Diagnostic testing includes immersion and/or contact A-scan biometry, ultrasound, OCT, visual field,
pachymetry, topography, dry eye testing, and fundus photography.
• Supplemental testing including Amsler Grid, Color Vision, Stereopsis (Randot test), Exophthalmometry,
BAT, and PAM.
• Minor Procedure Assisting: ability to assist with excisions, suture, etc. and is competent is sterilization
requirements and techniques for all associated instruments.
• Scribing: accurately document and select coding for all exam types, consults, and surgical procedures.

• Pharmacology: ability to identify and assist with the prescribing and/or administration of oral and intraocular
medications used in the office or by the patient. This includes a firm understanding of the purpose, action,
and potential side effect
Aid with patient flow, diagnostic testing, and technician exam components as needed.
• Aid in and support timely completion of all clinical administrative duties and assignments including Rx refill,
patient messages/tasks, and documentation audits.
• Maintain communication with clinical training team regarding any technicians in a training process.
• Complies with all practice procedures and protocols. Complies with all State and Federal regulations.
• Oversees management of direct reports to include hiring, training, development, support, performance
management, and termination of staff in oversight from human resources
• Maintain inventory PAR levels and order necessary medical and office supplies via D365 ordering process
• Complete monthly inventory counts and report to corporate office any procurement concerns or issues
• Lead daily team huddles and regularly scheduled monthly team meetings.
• Create the daily and weekly staff scheduling process by completing daily staff assignments and
coordination as needed due to last minute changes to schedules.
• Collaborate with doctors on development and creation of their schedule templates. Communicating
changes to the clinical and contact center teams as needed.
• Has responsibility for hiring/firing and completing performance reviews for all direct reports. Direct
supervision of technicians including time and attendance, productivity, and training needs
• Respond to all patient relations inquiries and submit complaint resolutions.
• Develop and train on clinical standard operating procedures and new policies
• Understand and accept responsibility to report potential or suspected errors to supervisor or Compliance
Officer
• Contribute to the team effort by completing additional tasks or projects as needed.
• Maintain positive attitude consisting of cooperation, self-motivation, courtesy, and professionalism.
• Serve as a coach and mentor to team members, fostering and environment of continuous learning and
professional growth
• Manage relationships with third party retail and equipment vendors; schedule maintenance to ensure
equipment remains in working order
High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience as a leader in an ophthalmic environment preferred
• Knowledge in ophthalmic skills, concepts, and have basic overview of ophthalmic diseases
• Current iJCAHPO COA certification required. COT or higher preferred.
• Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
