Retina Care Specialist of Florida offers state-of-the-art vitreoretinal care, all physicians have trained at the most renowned and respected retina and ophthalmology programs in the world. This practice offers various Diagnostic Procedures as well as focusing on disorders of the eye.

Position Summary

We are now hiring a Ophthalmic Photographer. This person will work as part of a team of clinical research coordinators to implement clinical research. They will specifically be responsible for obtaining ophthalmic images (photography, OCT, other) and storing/transmitting the images per protocol. 

Responsibilities

This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.

 

Photography skills include:

  • Identify and image ocular anatomy for diagnostic and documentary photography
  • Perform single and stereo fundus photography
  • Photograph posterior pole through and around dense or opaque media
  • Perform Angiography and obtain images (both FA and ICG)
  • Complete all necessary clinical trial certifications (e.g., CITI training) to capture and submit standardized images for medical research
  • Red free posterior pole and stereo imaging
  • Fundus Autofluorescence and diffuse external photography
  • Complete CITI certification and work within the framework of an IRB for clinical trials and studies
  • Certify for assigned clinical trial photography studies
  • Complete images and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience
  • Required: CRA/COT/OCT-C Certifications and (One of these are required)
  • Complete imaging certifications (All modalities) for all active clinic trials. 
  • Training in clinical ophthalmic photography
  • Training and experience in phlebotomy, specifically venipuncture
  • Involves placing IVs and administering the dyes
  • Must perform your own needle sticks
  • Hands on experience in clinical research ophthalmic photography, including certification as a photographer for clinical trials, is preferred
  • Training and certification in ETDRS best corrected visual acuity
  • Meticulous record keeping and organizational skills
  • Careful attention to detail in all research procedures
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent judgment
  • Ability to work as part of a team and coordinate research procedures with co-workers is essential
  • Optimizing clinic workflow
