This is a Summer 2024 Internship position averaging less than 20 hours per week for 12 weeks.   The prospective hire will be a part of the clinical team of The Surgery Center at Cranberry.  This staff member relies on instructions and pre-established guideliness under the direct supervision of the clinical staff and reports to the Director of Nursing.  The intern will observe strict patient confidentiality and maintain a professional demealor at all times with patient,s physicians, and co-workers.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate a commitment to support the clinic’s goals of providing each patient with a positive experience while receiving quality comprehensive eye care from the providers.   The Operating Room Nurse provides ongoing assessment and nursing care to patients in the facility in accordance with Physician’s orders, policies, procedures, and processes within the scope of practice.  Collaborates with physicians and team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. The Operating Room Nurse is responsible for the direct and indirect provision of safe, professional nursing care of the patients in the operating room. The nurse is accountable for ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered to patients within the perioperative and outpatient environment utilizing the nursing process.

The Surgery Coordinator is responsible for the surgery coordination and education of services for our patients. Surgery Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to premium services conversion, surgery scheduling, paperwork, and patient coordination of all procedures provided by our doctors. Must be extremely organized, detailed, a strong team player, and an effective communicator.

Collaborates with physicians and team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
